Has anyone listened to this lately? I was blown away by the coherence, playing, & X factor when I listened to this last night. ...a bit short perhaps but, otherwise, out of the darkness, in the strangest of places,....

Try a careful listen & report back to the captain's tower.

whoa, that playin' is pretty great. not normally a year/song combo that i would check out, but there are some very nice moments in there and jerry seems fully engaged throughout. good dynamics too- things get pretty cooking around the 9 minute mark. thanks for the heads up!

Okay, sold! I usually avoid 86 but that just means this year has more undiscovered gems for me than the others. Checking it out now...

Aye captain. Headphones on and reporting for duty - probably won't report back, but thanks!

indeed, this show is possibly Brent Mydland's finest hour as a member of the Grateful Dead...furthermore, the level of musical expression, fluidity, communication and precision that the band played with that night is truly worthy of note among music historians of all genres...the post drums segment, in particular, is a prime example of what to play for thosed inexperienced with the GD to make them believers...thank you for reminding me of this amazing expereince, I will now go listen to this show, an audience copy of course, and bliss out with my headphones on and desert spice incense casting tendrils of fragrance from the window sill...peace!
